How does hair medication work?

Finasteride works by blocking the conversion of testosterone into DHT, a hormone that causes male pattern baldness. You’ll notice less hair fall and thicker hair within 3-6 months of starting treatment, and increased hair growth with continued use. Minoxidil induces an early development phase when applied on your scalp by increasing blood flow. Together, Finasteride and Minoxidil offer a powerful combo to promote hair regrowth

Is hair loss treatment effective?

In short, yes, but as with all medicines, they don’t work for everyone. Hair loss treatment can work to preserve hair and possibly even regrow hair. In one study, Finasteride was effective at stopping hair loss in 83% of men compared to 28% for the placebo group.

How much does it cost?

The cost of an initial visit is $39 CAD to cover a prescription that is valid for 1 year. The cost of the medication is not included and will be payable to the pharmacy, but is usually ~$30 for a 30-day supply.

Can I use any pharmacy?

Yes. We can fax or call in your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice. You will be asked to provide your preferred pharmacy, or we’ll select one close to you with competitive pricing.

How quickly will I get my prescription after I submit my request?

Our medical practitioners will review your submission within 24-48 hours. If you do not hear back from our team even after that time please email [email protected]

Is the fee covered by employee health insurance plans?

Yes, this fee is reimbursable by most benefit plans that include a flexible health spending account. Check with your insurance provider for your exact policy. We’re happy to provide receipts compatible with your insurance provider’s reimbursement requirements.

What is your refund policy?

Your fee will be automatically refunded if you are declined a prescription.
