How do I take an STD test at home?

Should I get tested?

If you are exhibiting any symptoms or have any concerns, it is best to make an appointment as soon as possible. Consulting with a certified healthcare provider and getting tested is the only way to know for sure if you have an STD.

How often should I get tested?

If you are sexually active, you should get tested at least once a year, even if you are monogamous. If you are sexually involved with one or more partners, you should get tested before engaging with a new partner. If you are unable to get tested before having sex with a new partner, it is best to wait at least 10 days after having sex to get tested, as some STDs will not show up on the test until 10 days have passed.
